Mao Saron, a 54-year-old cashew farmer from Chi Spay village, Koh commune, Kampong Thom district, has dedicated his life to farming.
With limited education and the challenge of finding part-time work, farming became Saron’s only viable option, thanks to the land he owned. Over the years, he has faced numerous challenges in cashew farming, from a lack of experience in using fertilizers to dealing with climate change and pest issues.
However, with the help of government organizations and the support of the CashewNote model, Saron has improved his farming techniques, particularly in pest control and yield improvement. Despite the ongoing struggles of an unstable market, Saron remains committed to bettering his farm and his community's economic future.
